Wool Production

The Australian wool industry is enjoying a resurgence in demand as consumers rediscover the superior properties of this soft, clean and green natural fibre.

Wellard Agri’s large, 75,000 head sheep flock is built around the Poll Merino sheep breed, renowned for producing some of the most luxurious fabrics in the world through to industrial uses such as insulation.

Grazing the vast expanses of the Western Australian Wheatbelt, the Wellard Agri sheep flock produces approximately 1,400 bales of 19.5 micron wool each year to be woven into high quality men’s and women’s fashionwear.

In addition, as part of the pre-export preparation, Wellard shears up to 350,000 sheep producing another 3500 bales of mixed quality wool.
