Beaufort River Meats is Wellard’s abattoir and meat processing facility based in Western Australia’s Great Southern, one of WA’s largest sheep producing areas.

The modern abattoir has a capacity of 2500 head per day. All sheep and lambs Halal slaughtered, and are supplied either chilled or frozen to a range of markets throughout the world.

Beaufort River Meats offers important slaughter competition in the market place (in addition to Wellard Rural Exports’ live export competition) for Western Australian sheep producers.

Wellard’s network of livestock buyers purchase sheep for both Beaufort River Meats and Wellard Rural Exports, providing a total purchasing solution and certainty of dual demand for farmers.

Quality Australian lamb and sheepmeat is supplied by Beaufort River Meats to all of the Middle East, Taiwan, the United States of America, Canada, West Indies, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Singapore and China.

Wellard also operates a leased processing facility in the Philippines, processing bought cattle and cattle bred from the company’s breeding operations at Masbate, Philippines, using Australian slaughter techniques and standards.

The beef from the abattoir is marketed as Wellard Beef and is sold domestically in the Philippines.
